The Colorado Rapids will look to build on their recent win over the weekend as they make a mid-week visit to Gillette Stadium. The New England Revolution are in the midst of a nightmare as the club has lost 8 (yes, eight) league matches in a row.
Colorado (8-6-6) played one of their best games of the season on Friday night as they recorded a 3-0 win over Chivas USA. Rapids head coach Pablo Mastroeni was honored during pre-game as the first-year manager was inducted into the Rapids 'Gallery of Honor.' Nick LaBrocca, Drew Moor, and Gabriel Torres all found the scoresheet as Colorado jumped back into the top-half of the Western Conference.
New England (7-11-2) fell victim to the Columbus Crew at Gillette Stadium on the weekend. Ethan Finley secured all three points for the Crew as the Revs suffered an eighth consecutive defeat that undoubtedly has head coach Jay Heaps sweating bullets at the moment. New England started the season well, but has slipped into 6th place in the Eastern Conference.
Many Rapids fans are looking ahead to the Saturday fixture against Real Salt Lake, but Colorado will not want to overlook a New England side that is currently in a free fall. Teal Bunbury, Saer Sene, Charlie Davies, and Lee Nguyen are all capable of scoring goals. However, The Revolution will have to deal with an inspired, but shorthanded Rapids side that are looking to keep pace in the Western Conference playoff race.
