Tuesday morning it was announced that the home of the Colorado Rapids would be hosting another International Friendly as Mexico will be playing Bolivia on Tuesday, September 9. This is a bit of a coup for the Rapids and the Front Range soccer community as a whole and is in line with some of the other great soccer events that the area has hosted.
Last year Dick's Sporting Goods Park hosted the United States Men's National Team in a World Cup qualifier in blizzard conditions and has also been graced by visits from the US Women's National Team. All of the matches have had solid, if not sold out, attendance and this past weekend, over 54,000 attended the Guinness International Champions Cup at Sports Authority Field in Denver. That match was a 3-2 victory for Manchester United over AS Roma, and the attendance there and at the friendlies at Dick's shows that Colorado and the Denver area can support International soccer.
