In the least surprising news that could ever be brought out involving the Rapids this season, Pablo Mastroeni will be added to the Colorado Rapids Gallery of Honor later this month. The Denver Post's Daniel Boniface was the first to break the story this morning.
Mastroeni was a shoe-in for the honor at some point, as he's the only player who can probably legitimately be called a 'legend' for the Rapids after a decade of service and an MLS Cup win, which he led the charge to as captain with not only some wonderful midfield work, but a rare goal in that 2010 playoffs as well.
He will be the fifth member of the Gallery, joining Marcelo Balboa, John Spencer, Chris Henderson and Paul Bravo. The induction and celebration of his career with the Rapids will take place on July 25th, when the Rapids host Chivas USA in a key Western Conference match-up.
