When it rains it pours it seems.
After waiting many years to host a US Open Cup match, news trickled out that the Colorado Rapids could be in line to host a fifth round match if they are able to defeat Orlando City SC on June 17. This is quite shocking news as supporters were getting excited about the chance to see a home match in the Cup, we are now graced with the opportunity for a second.
But what is really exciting is that it could mean a home date with Rocky Mountain rival Real Salt Lake (assuming that RSL is able to defeat Atlanta Silverbacks in their fourth round match.
There is obviously a long way to go and the Rapids need to take the Orlando City match seriously, but for the first time in a very long time the Rapids have a real shot in this tournament. The timing for the Orlando match is terrific as the Rapids could play a full strength team as the club is in the middle of the World Cup break.
Are you as excited as we are about this possible fifth round matchup?
And will Pablo take this tournament seriously?
