Every day of the World Cup, we'll have a preview of the day's events. Feel free to chat about the day's matches in here as they unfold.
The fact that the day that I'm saying might be one of the least interesting in this year's group stage involves a game between France and Switzerland is a pretty good indicator of how awesome this World Cup has been. Let's move into today's slate of matches.
Italy vs. Costa Rica - 10 am
Having only one game in the books allows the fairy tale of Costa Rica to continue, but today they'll likely get exposed against an Italy side that is both more disciplined than Uruguay and won't be overlooking their Central American opponents. Of course, if Costa Rica do win, we've got a hell of a storyline going into the Round of 16. (By the way, if Italy and England both lose to Costa Rica, we should totally get to steal one of UEFA's WC slots.)
Switzerland vs. France - 1 pm
Whoever wins this game probably wins Group E. It's two teams that have a decent shot of winning the whole ordeal going up against each other, and that's always enough to make worthy watching. At worst, we might get a repeat of the hilarity that was Spain-Netherlands.
Honduras vs. Ecuador - 4 pm
This one is just a clunker in the making. Let's watch anyway, since it might end up being one of those underrated incredible performances between teams that really need points.
