The Colorado Rapids will look to build on their 4-1 victory over Montreal Impact on the weekend as the Rocky Mountain club snapped a 2-game losing streak. Houston will be without captain Brad Davis as the midfielder made the final 23-man World Cup roster for the United States.
Colorado (5-4-3) got back to winning ways against Montreal as Dillon Powers, Kamani Hill, and Shane O-Neill all found the scoresheet. The win came as a boost as the Rapids won for the first time since May 3rd, a 1-0 win over LA Galaxy. Colorado forward Deshorn Brown will be available for selection after Jamaica allowed the young speedster to return after international duty.
Houston (5-7-2) are currently on a 2-game losing streak after being shut out by both DC United and San Jose Earthquakes. Head coach Dominic Kinnear will also have to do with the services of their captain and best player, Brad Davis, after the 32-year-old will take part in the 2014 FIFA World Cup for the United States.
The Rapids are currently thin at the forward position after Edson Buddle went off injured last week against Montreal. Vicente Sanchez and Gaby Torres are both recovering from injuries. Houston will also be without Boniek Garcia, who will be representing Honduras in the World Cup.
