Colorado Rapids Will Host Tampa Bay Rowdies/Orlando City Winner In US Open Cup

The Colorado Rapids are going to host an Open Cup game! It will be against one of the last two teams they faced in the competition's opening round for MLS teams, Tampa Bay or Orlando City.

This season will seem pretty familiar in terms of the US Open Cup for the Colorado Rapids. They'll be facing one of the teams they saw in the last two seasons depending on the result of the third round. The Tampa Bay Rowdies of the NASL will take on Orlando City SC in that match-up in the city of Disney World and other assorted horrors, and the winner of that match will head out to Colorado where they'll play at DSGP against the Rapids.

Tampa was Colorado's first opponent in the 2012 Open Cup, and goals from Edu (lol), Andre Akpan (lol) and Kamani Hill (lol) were enough to give the Rapids a 3-1 win down at Al Lang Stadium. Last year, Orlando City were the first and only opponent the Rapids met, with the Steward Ceus show doing exactly what the Steward Ceus show did every game we saw him last year, and a 10-man 3-1 loss was how that one finished. If Tampa gets through, they'll have a few old friends in tow at DSGP; both Anthony Wallace and Matt Pickens play for the green and gold.

Also, I just want to point out that I lived in Colorado for ages and they never gave the Rapids a home game in the USOC when I actually LIVED in Colorado, but the second I move to Florida and they draw us against a Floridian team, they finally get the home game. I see how it is, US Soccer!
