Does this preseason feel slower than usual to anyone else? No? That's just me? Maybe it's because the Rapids are currently without a coach and have made very few real moves during the off-season, but it feels like it's been dragging along. After three games played against preseason opposition (read: Houston Dynamo at half speed and two college teams) Colorado has earned three wins with goals from all over the place. Does that bode well going into the regular season? Well, the Las Vegas ProSoccer Challenge will probably tell us no.
Why? Because that's the game where the Rapids got completely hammered by Chivas USA last season, thanks to an awful showing by Steward Ceus. That game ended 3-0, but the teams ended up taking very different paths once the season started. This time around, both teams will be using a new coach -- our old friend Wilmer Cabrera for Chivas, and Pablo Mastroeni (technically) for the Rapids -- and some new players, but it's still just preseason so best not to put that much thought into it.
The game will be at 8:30 pm MT at Sam Boyd Stadium.
