No Colorado Rapids make MLS Best XI to the surprise of nobody

What, no players from the team with a 14-game winless streak made the Best XI? Shock!

Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

To the surprise, shock and horror of all involved in MLS, no Colorado Rapids made the MLS Best XI announced by the league on Tuesday. Teams that feature 14-game winless streaks don't tend to make their way onto awards like that -- in fact, the Rapids didn't have any contenders in any of the awards awarded by the league, and I doubt there are even many arguments that could have been made otherwise. (Maybe Jose Mari for newcomer of the year, just for those bomb-ass goals he kept scoring?)

Maybe next year we can get back to some post-season call-outs in good ways instead of bad.

The full MLS Best XI is as follows:

Bill Hamid (DC United)
Chad Marshall (Seattle Sounders)
Bobby Boswell (DC United)
Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy
Diego Valeri (Portland Timbers)
Lee Nguyen (New England Revolution)
Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy)
Obafemi Martins (Seattle Sounders)
Robbie Keane (LA Galaxy)
Thierry Henry (New York Red Bulls)
Bradley Wright-Phillips (New York Red Bulls)
