The Memorial Weekend match for the Colorado Rapids is always a fun one to attend. There is usually a pretty good crowd and the team usually gets up for the match and puts on a good performance. And the 2014 edition was no exception as the Rapids defeated the Montreal Impact 4-1 in front of a packed house at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. It was a nice rebound match for our Burgundy Boys as they were winless in their last three matches.

Hero of the Match: The Rapids Offense. It had been no secret that the Rapids offense was pretty poor. Heading into the Montreal match the Rapids had scored 5 goals in 7 games. Pretty pathetic. But in the Impact match, the Rapids offense was on fire by setting season highs in shots and shots on goal. The Rapids picked up a brace from Dillon Powers and goal of the week caliber goals from Kamani Hill and Shane O'Neill. It was a great performance and the Rapids were able to pound an inferior team.
Goat of the Match: Not A Damn Thing. Sure, I guess I could nitpick at the possession and passing numbers, but the truth is that this was a complete victory and the Rapids played one of their best matches of the season.
