In the final home game of the season Colorado Rapids dropped a 1-0 decision to FC Dallas that confirmed a 13th consecutive game without a victory. It was a rough afternoon as the Rapids generated only one shot on goal and saw them drop to 8-17-8 on the year.
Here is The Good, The Bad, The Ugly--Colorado Rapids, Round 33
The Good--Davy Time!
There was not a whole lot of good on the day, but it was great to see Davy Armstrong get a little time this week. He has battled back from a torn ACL and as the Rapids first Homegrown Player, I want to see him succeed. I have no idea whether or not he is on the roster in 2015, but it was great to see him play.
The Bad--Another Damn Loss
The losing is getting tougher and tougher to take and I was hopeful that in the final home game of the season that the Rapids would have charged out of the gate and take it to Dallas. Unfortunately when you have only one shot on goal, you are not taking it to anyone.
The Ugly--Big Decisions Are Coming
As the club is finishing up the 2014 campaign and starting to prepare for 2015 there are some pretty major roster decisions coming for the club. Will players like Edson Buddle, Gabriel Torres, Zat Knight, Marvell Wynne, Vicente Sanchez, Kamani Hill, Armstrong, and Marc Burch, etc be back in 2015? There are compelling reasons to keep or release those guys and it is certainly shaping up to be an interesting and exciting off-season.
With just one game left to break the streak, the Rapids head to Vancouver and try and recreate the magic from earlier this year when the Rapids defeated the Whitecaps. And with Vancouver needing a win to secure their place in the playoffs, it will be tough on the Rapids. Hopefully they find that extra gear and bring home a W in their last game of the year.
