Colorado Rapids vs. Real Salt Lake - Player Ratings

The four words that Colorado Rapids supporters have hoped for finally can be said aloud: "The Cup Is Home."

Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Spor

he Cup is home.

In a very entertaining 90 minutes of football (and 62 minutes of a weather delay), the Rocky Mountain Cup came home as Colorado Rapids tied Real Salt Lake 2-2 on a wet Saturday night in Commerce City. With goals from Deshorn Brown and Jaime Castrillon and a total team effort, the Rapids brought the Rocky Mountain Cup back to Colorado for the first time since 2006.

Here is how I saw the match:

Clint Irwin 6

Could not do much on both RSL goals, but did take a needless yellow card after the RSL penalty kick. Had three saves on the match.

Chris Klute 8

How much longer before Klute gets a USMNT call-up? He was very solid on the night and had the assist on the goal that tied the game. His passes were crisp and used his speed and aggressiveness to shut down the RSL attack.

German Mera 6

Was effective on the night partnering with Drew Moor in the middle. Was relatively quiet but was caught out of position on the Kyle Beckerman cross on the RSL first goal.

Drew Moor 6

The Captain did not need to foul on the penalty kick as Mera was coming to help. The goal could have been disastrous, but the team rebounded from the deficit.

Marvell Wynne 5.5

Not Wynne's best game and was caught completely out of position on the RSL goal. If he had actually marked his man, RSL would not have scored the opener in the second minute. He did, however, have the assist on the Deshorn Brown goal.

Nathan Sturgis 7

Had a solid night, completing 50 of 54 passes with one shot (off target). Partnered with Shane O'Neill at Defensive Mid.

Shane O'Neill 7

Was effective again, this time in a different position. Partnered with Sturgis as a holding midfielder. Completed 46 of 55 passes. Had an great shot on goal that took a spectacular save by Nick Rimando to stop.

Deshorn Brown 7

A magnificent goal born purely of his speed and strength was the perfect answer for the RSL goal. Had three shots (two on target) but what will be remembered is the run, shot, and goal to level the match.

Dillon Powers 7.5

Dealt effectively all night with the possession based game that RSL plays and was not intimidated by Beckerman. Was all over the field and made himself a menace for the RSL offensive push. Had a terrific pass that helped set up the second goal.

Atiba Harris 4

Left after 35 minutes due to injury and was largely ineffective all night. If some of the Rapids' rumored signings come to fruition, Harris may be the odd man out.

Edson Buddle 5

Had a good shot on goal, but was largely neutralized all night. Looked to pick up a slight knock in the second half and made way for Danny Mwanga.

Tony Cascio 7

Cascio looked lively and energetic all night and had a couple of solid shots in his 55 minutes of work.

Jaime Castrillon 7

Got the goal that mattered and had two shots on goal. The goal was the kind of thing that Rapids supporters will remember for a long time as "the goal that brought the Cup home."

Danny Mwanga 5

Came on for Buddle in the second half and did not do much to distinguish himself.
