"And It's Not Even Close" - The Shin Guardian Ranks Chris Klute Best LB In MLS

Is Chris Klute the best left back in Major League Soccer right now? The Shin Guardian has ranked him as such.

We've started to see Chris Klute as one of the best well-kept secrets in Major League Soccer right now over here at Burgundy Wave, even giving him a few shouts for possible National Team call-ups in the future. He makes a great effort on every play, his tackles are clean and accurate and he's quickly become one of the best crossers on the entire team. He's started to get noticed elsewhere recently, getting a shout on a Gold Cup broadcast and getting a few mentions in the more non-Rapidscentric blogs on the intertubes.

He got a pretty high class shout yesterday from The Shin Guardian, who ranked him the current best left back in MLS by a wide margin in their 'Best At The Break' post for 2013.

LB: Chris Klute

The skinny: …. and it’s not even close. Klute is still raw, but he uses his speed and physical ability extremely well and his dedication to getting forward in the attack continually demands the opposition to second guess their use of his flank on the attack. Terrific. Just terrific.

Clint Irwin also got a shout in the post, as the second best goalkeeper in the league behind his Rocky Mountain counterpart Nick Rimando.
