The Colorado Rapids will look to extend their unbeaten run of league matches to seven games after a shock defeat to Orlando City FC in the US Open Cup Third Round. It was Orlando City's first ever win against an MLS side.

Colorado (5-4-4) defeated Chivas USA 2-0 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on the weekend. Atiba Harris and Nathan Sturgis both found themselves on the scoresheet while Chivas USA head coach Jose Luis "Chelis" Sanchez Sola found himself leaving the club just days after the loss. The club announced that they had mutually agreed to part ways with Chelis. Jose Luis Real has taken over the coaching duties with los Rojiblancos.

FC Dallas (8-2-3) have impressed in 2013 are currently find themselves 5 points clear at the top of the table in the Western Conference. The Texan club has benefited from the return of Kenny Cooper and head coach Schellas Hyndman has instilled confidence in a side that was not necessarily a pre-season favorite for MLS Cup glory.

Despite the disappointing US Open Cup defeat on Tuesday, the Rapids can take solace in the fact that midfielder Martin Rivero has been listed as day-to-day after his foot injury against Chivas USA. It was the same foot the Argentine midfielder broke during preseason.
