Best Of The Colorado Rapids: By The Numbers - #30

Who’s the best all-time Colorado Rapids player to wear #30?

This season we'll be taking a look at every player who has worn a Colorado Rapids jersey over the 18 years of the club's existence. Who was the best player to wear a particular jersey number? I'll list them, and you can vote and comment on the best players to don the burgundy...or black and blue...or green...

For those who missed them and want to vote, here are links to the numbers we've covered already:

#34 - #77

#33

#32

#31

Today we're looking at every #30 who has appeared in at least one Major League Soccer or CONCACAF Champion's League match.

#30

  • Thiago Martins -- 2006
The big Brazilian had a long and diverse career in US soccer leagues, including 25 games and 3 goals with the Rapids in 2006. Always involved in the action, he was second that season in shots and led the team in fouls.
  • Amir Lowery - 2005
The Rapids' 3rd round pick in 2005, he was a late game substitution, logging all of one minute for the Rapids. After that, he bounced around MLS benches and lower league teams, and now appears to be a free agent.

  • Zizi Roberts - 2003-2004
The Liberian international came to the Rapids with such fanfare (and a cool name) that he was ultimately a huge disappointment in Colorado. Having suited up for Milan and Olympiakos, he was billed as a young star in the making. But in two seasons he managed only 19 appearances and 6 goals, and ongoing injury problems kept his potential just a thing of the imagination.

So who's the best Rapids player to ever wear the number 30? Vote below!

My Pick: Certainly a less-than-stellar group, but the nod goes to Martins for his one solid season, which included a playoff run to the conference finals (though he missed the series clinching penalty shootout win in Dallas due to a red card suspension).
