Thanks to the giant storm that's about to head through town -- which hasn't dropped a ton of snow yet but is reportedly slated to drop anywhere from 12 to 22 inches of the white stuff, depending on which weather service you've been chatting with -- the home opener against the Philadelphia Union, originally scheduled for today at 4 p.m., has been postponed.
It's disappointing, but for those of us not taking the bus to the game it makes sense that they would want to skip it today. Driving in a blizzard is never a fun prospect and attendance is almost surely going to be higher with a clearer sky out than a snowy one. Hopefully they still keep the orange ball and orange lines on the field, at the very least. (It's all I really want!)
The game will instead be played tomorrow at 1 p.m., ideally after the snow has melted off a bit and stopped falling.
