MLS Gives Two-Game Suspension To Drew Moor

Drew Moor's foolish elbow to Marcelo Sarvas' head will result in a two-game suspension.

USA TODAY Sports

Drew Moor will miss two games after smacking Marcelo Sarvas in the head with his elbow last week against the LA Galaxy, a move that got him immediately red carded and sapped a possible point from the Rapids in Carson. Sarvas made a bit of a meal of the contact that was made, but it was still a foolish play on Drew's part, especially standing just inside the penalty area as he was.

The suspension will keep Moor out of the game against the Portland Timbers on Saturday as well as the RMC derby match against Real Salt Lake the week after.

Unfortunately, Diego Calderon's injury looks pretty bad as well. The center of defense is going to need quite a bit of shuffling around if he's not going to be available sooner, rather than later. Since both Moor and Calderon are missing, I expect Marvell Wynne and Chris Klute or Shane O'Neill to get the calls this weekend.
