Good news, everyone. If you're either #TeamDillon or #TeamDeshorn, you're not going to have to worry about that when you take a look at SB Nation's Rookie of the Year poll. Instead of one winner appearing outright from the dynamic duo, the vote ended up being split between the two, so they are simply sharing the SBN version of the award.
From the moment that the Colorado Rapids picked Deshorn Brown (No. 6 overall) and Dillon Powers (No. 11) just five spots apart, the two rookies have been inextricably linked. Both would eventually become opening day starters and go on to enjoy fabulous freshman campaigns. By the end of the season, they had combined for 15 goals and 10 assists.
DeAndre Yedlin finished third in the RoY group with only four votes, while Andrew Farrell came in last among candidates that actually received a vote with only two.
Though I'm still fairly convinced that Powers is going to be taking home the actual award at the end of the day, it's nice to see that the other authors around the network are high on both of our young prospects.
