So yeah, it was hard to pick a Man of the Match after the Seattle Sounders game because so many players did great jobs. It's going to be hard to pick a MoM for the San Jose Earthquakes game as well, but for a completely different reason. Just about nobody past the defensive midfielders did a good job out there, but we did at least have a couple of solid showings in the back. Let's nominate three.
Clint Irwin - Five saves, including a Save of the Week candidate right before Wondolowski scored his goal. Couldn't do much about the goal that ended up going in, but saved the Rapids rears more than once.
Drew Moor - Two saves, both Save of the Week candidates. Had a few shaky moments otherwise, but the game would have been 1-0 Quakes a lot sooner without his fantastic double-save on the line.
Chris Klute - The only attacking presence for the Rapids that seemed to do anything of note on the day, also defended very well on the left side.
Vote below on who you thought the Man of the Match was.
