That save that we were calling a potential Save of the Year candidate from Matt Pickens in Friday's game against the Portland Timbers has been put into the Save of the Week contest this week, to the surprise of nobody. He's not going to have a save of the year chance unless he can pull out a win this week, and he's against competition that includes no Sounders or Timbers players, which should also make things easier on him.
The other saves include a great parry from Dan Kennedy, a close range reaction stop from Sean Johnson and two high tip-away saves from Troy Perkins and Bill Gaudette. It's a solid week, but I think Pickens had the best of the bunch. (I'm bias.)
The link to vote for Pickens is right here, head over there and throw him a vote so that the Rapids can win at least something this season!
