Wells Thompson got a quick start to his career with the Chicago Fire since he was traded last week from the Colorado Rapids. In fact, he got his first ever appearance with the team almost immediately as he was put on the bench against the Montreal Impact on Saturday and earned seven minutes of playing time at the end of their 3-1 victory.

He had a pretty Wells Thompson-y seven minutes, committing a foul and putting together a 1/2 successful to unsuccessful pass rate in his short time on the field.

Another note from Hot Time In Old Town's game recap, he apparently has moved his number back to 15 after being assigned No. 2 by the club when he was signed. Fire legend C.J. Brown used to wear that number before his retirement.

You may have noticed that recently acquired midfielder Wells Thompson was wearing the number 15 instead of the 2 he was given by the club. He said he changed jersey numbers "Out of respect."
