So if you had the opportunity to go to the Colorado Rapids' "Meet the Team Party" last Sunday afternoon, you got to see the official unveiling of the new 2013 jersey. Those of you who weren't there have certainly seen it posted online since then. If not, you can check out Drew Moor wearing the jersey in this Denver Post article.
The Rapids are Arsenal's official partner club in the US, and the 2013 jersey gives a nod to that with its white sleeves.
The 2013 jersey includes the names of 2012 season ticket holders on it. The large horizontal stripes on the jersey featuring the names are a slightly darker burgundy, creating a subtle contrast against the background burgundy. The stripes only reveals themselves to be text on close inspection. From a design perspective, I think this was handled well and am pleased with the new look. The "Meet the Team" party also had blown up posters of the lists of names, which allowed one to search and find their name. When you get your hands on a jersey and want to find your name, well, good luck. The names are sort of in alphabetical order, meaning that I'd say about 70% or so are, and the rest are more or less scattered on the bottom of each row.
So, what are your thoughts on the 2013 jersey?
