July and August were historically bad months for the Rapids, as they only managed to pick up four points in the two months combined off a win against RSL and a draw against Chivas USA, both at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. Can they manage to sink any lower after dropping what was supposed to be an easy result to the Portland Timbers? We'll find out in September.
Actually, since we start off with a game against the Timbers at DSGP, we're going to find out if the sinking can get any lower pretty darn quickly. At the very least, there's nowhere to go but up! (With this team they'll probably find a way to go down, but we're nothing if not optimistic!)
September 14th @ LA Galaxy - Colorado has actually done historically better against the Galaxy in LA than they have in Colorado, but that's probably not going to be much help this time around. No longer in a terrible run and at the bottom of the table, the Galaxy will want the points and will probably get them.
September 23rd @ Vancouver Whitecaps - Let's just go with the normal formula for this one. The Rapids will outshoot Vancouver 15-3 and lose 1-0. That's just the way things go when Colorado faces the Whitecaps in 2012, sad to say.
September 30th vs. LA Galaxy - The good thing about this game is that it's the day after my birthday so I'll probably be too hungover to remember anything that happens during it. Regardless, it's probably another one to add to the L column.
Why yes, I did just predict an 0-4 month, thank you for asking!
