On Saturday, July 7th, the Colorado Rapids will play the Seattle Sounders FC at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Washington. The match is scheduled for kickoff at 8:00 MST and will be broadcast nationally on the NBC Sports Network.

The Rapids (7-9-1) are coming off a disappointing 1-0 home loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps on Independence Day. Colorado were quite unlucky not to score from several chances and a Vancouver goal against the run of play just before halftime proved to be the difference in front of a capacity crowd at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

Seattle (7-5-6) drew 0-0 in Utah against Real Salt Lake on Wednesday. The Emerald City club has now gone nine consecutive matches without a win. Fredy Montero has taken the majority of the blame as the Colombian forward has only scored 4 goals in 14 league appearances on the campaign. Seattle's last win was on May 9th over FC Dallas.

The last time the two clubs met was on April 14th, and the Rapids fell 1-0 at CenturyLink Field courtesy of a Zach Scott header from a corner kick. Colorado has never won a league match against the Sounders at CenturyLink Field (formerly Qwest Field). Colorado will be without the services of fan-favorite Kosuke Kimura, as the Japanese defender was sent to Portland in exchange for an international roster slot and allocation money.
