The Colorado Rapids announced on Tuesday that due to a conflict with a CONCACAF Champions League match against the Puerto Rico Islanders on September 19th for the LA Galaxy, the match originally scheduled between the Galaxy and the Rapids will be moved.
The original date of Sunday, September 16, will now be changed to Friday, September 14. This won't affect the Rapids all that much, since the September schedule for Colorado features only four games. The two day move will still allow over a week of rest between the two matches surrounding the Galaxy game, matches against the Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps.
The new date will feature a 7:00 p.m. Mountain Time kick off at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.
This is the first time that a game has been re-scheduled for the Rapids since way back in 2010 when a match early in the season against the Philadelphia Union was forced back to September 29th.
