On Saturday, July 14th, the Colorado Rapids will welcome FC Dallas to Dick's Sporting Goods Park. The match will be broadcast on Altitude and kick off is scheduled for 7:00 MST. The Rapids are coming off a disappointing 2-1 loss to Seattle on the weekend while FC Dallas found themselves with a share of the points in a 0-0 draw against San Jose.

The first time Colorado faced FC Dallas this season was a in early May as the visiting Rapids took advantage of two red cards to win 2-0 at FC Dallas Stadium. FC Dallas midfielder Brek Shea missed the match due to suspension. The talented youngster and USA international has only featured in seven matches for FC Dallas this season so far in 2012. They did get a big boost to their offense, however, in the form of 2010 MVP David Ferreira, who recently returned from a lengthy injury.

Colorado (7-10-1) are looking to find their groove at home given the fact the team has lost two of their past three matches in the thin air of Commerce City. FC Dallas (3-9-7) have had a disastrous campaign so far and are currently bottom of the Western Conference table.

While Jamie Smith has impressed in his return, it is likely that rookie Tony Cascio will receive a starting position as head coach Oscar Pareja will continue his rotation policy in search for what will hopefully be a massive three points for the Rocky Mountain club. The Rapids are in a mid-season battle for playoff positioning and the schedule will not get any easier with a trip to Real Salt Lake looming the following weekend.
