Colorado Rapids will face Dayton/Michigan in next Open Cup round if they beat Kansas City

It's been quite a while since we've seen Open Cup soccer in the state of Colorado that didn't involve the Real Colorado Foxes. The good news is, the Colorado Rapids are guaranteed to host a home game in the US Open Cup this season if they can get by Sporting Kansas City in their game on June 5th.

TheCup.us put out the scenarios for the quarterfinals on Saturday, and the winner of the Rapids/KC game will get a home game against either the Dayton Dutch Lions of the USL Pro or the Michigan Bucks of the PDL. The games in the quarterfinals will be on June 26th.

This will give the Rapids a surprisingly easy road to the semi-finals assuming they can get by Sporting Kansas City in the Round of 16. Of course, the Cup this season has been dotted with plenty of upsets so 'easy' might not be the right word for it.
