It was a long shot that we would see anybody from the Colorado Rapids get placed on Jurgen Klinnsman's newest US Men's National Team roster for the upcoming game against Italy, and predictably there were no Rapids on the final cut. Jeff Larentowicz, as usual, probably the best chance of making the squad for his latest of several caps lately during this MLS offseason. He's unavailable right now anyway, being in Hawaii and all.
Interestingly, Edson Buddle has been put onto the team for the first time in a good while, probably due to his return to Major League Soccer. Making his first appearance is intriguing young German-American striker Terrence Boyd, who has absolutely torn up the scoring charts over in Bundesliga in Germany, albeit as a reserve the entire time. Past those two, it's pretty much all expected names, guys like Clint Dempsey, Clarence Goodson and the like. It's a very euro-centric roster, not all that many MLS players.
The game against Italy will be on February 29th.
