Prior to 2012, the back four of Kosuke Kimura, Drew Moor, Marvell Wynne and Anthony Wallace was one of the better ones in Major League Soccer. Unfortunately, it fell to pieces this season. Kimura decided to regress into one of the worst defensive right backs in the league, and got traded. Wallace was out before the season even began with a year-long injury. Moor and Wynne are still there, but haven't looked quite as strong without Pablo Mastroeni in the middle of the park, keeping the ball away from the back.
Hendry Thomas has improved that, of course, but that's not the point. The point is that there's quite a few people on the squad who need minutes defensively, namely right back Davy Armstrong and center back Chris Klute.
It's a shame that they got rid of Eddie Ababio, that could have given the team even more presence in the back with youth. As it stands, I expect Tyson Wahl to get some time because he has not exactly proven himself with the team in his short time with the team.
Here's the back four I want to see, who do you want in the back?
Davy Armstrong - Chris Klute - Marvell Wynne - Tyson Wahl
(Now, because I said that, they're going to start Tyrone Marshall and Scott Palguta. You just watch.)
