In the most shocking result in the history of MLS - this post brought to you by Sarcasm! - the Major League Soccer all-star team got absolutely reamed today by Manchester United in a repeat of last season's debacle as they fell 4-0. At the very least, Colorado Rapids fans were able to have a bit of pride as one of their guys started the match.

Omar Cummings earned his all-star spot on the backs of a strong performance last year and most likely a reputation call this year from Hans Backe. He played fairly well in his appearance in Backe's 4-3-3 formation today against United, though didn't do much on offense before getting subbed out at the beginning of the second half.

Colorado doesn't often get players in the All-star game starting XI, so it's a bit of an honor to see Cummings get the nod. Then again, it was being played in a very forward-heavy set all game and Backe was clearly drinking as he put David Beckham into a holding midfielder position of all places, but either way it's pretty cool to see our guy get that nod. Congratulations Cummings, shame about the result. May this be the first of a slew of appearances in the future!
