Former Colorado Rapids legend Marcelo Balboa was a recent guest on MLSsoccer.com's ExtraTime Radio podcast. The segment consisted of Balboa's thoughts about the club parting ways with Gary Smith, and the recent resignation of Managing Director Jeff Plush. He also talked about potential coaching candidates, and stated that Denver is an attractive place to play when briefly discussing potential new signings for the club.
Balboa noted that Thomas Dooley is a potential frontrunner for the vacant head coaching position along with Denis Hamlett, among others. Balboa did rule himself out of the head coaching position, citing his own lack of any coaching experience. However, the former US International did state that he would be open to being an assistant coach should he get the chance with the Colorado Rapids in the future.
