SBnation Soccer did a pretty cool thing today, getting all of the soccer editors today and putting together a mock draft. With me representing the Rapids, I went in with an idea of looking for two specific positions with a dash of BPA on top. The two players I picked were;
Michael Boxall, D UCSB - Boxall is a big defender from New Zealand who will most likely take over the Julien Baudet role of big man off the bench. At 6'2'' he has the size and with a ton of international time for the Kiwis U-20 squad he has the experience with the game to be a star in MLS. Picked at 18th overall he would be a solid selection for Colorado.
Davis Paul, F California - Davis Paul was a powerhouse at striker for the University of California, averaging almost 20 goals a year in his four years there. Undersized at only 5'8'' and 145 pounds, he will probably need time in the development league to get his chops against MLS players. With three players ahead of him on the striker depth chart in Andre Akpan, Macoumba Kandji and Quincey Amarikwa, he'll have plenty of time to get ready for the MLS in the future.
