Cummings will not play tomorrow

Well crap.
Well crap.

About 70 minutes into the Rapids last game against the New England Revolution, Omar Cummings left the game with what appeared to be a leg injury. It didn't look very serious at the time, but his ankle was sprained and it has kept him from practice the past week. Via the Rapids Twitter, he did not travel to Salt Lake with the rest of the team and will not play against RSL tomorrow.

His replacement in the lineup will most likely be Macoumba Kandji. Lucky for Gary Smith that he decided to acquire Kandji in a recent trade, I guess. Kandji will probably not play at all if Gary Smith decides to go back to his old 4-5-1 formation in the absence of arguably his best striker.

If there was ever a reason to think that Gary Smith was going to play more conservatively and play for the draw instead of the win in Rio Tinto, Cummings being unavailable might be the final nail in the coffin.
