Honestly, who else would it have been? Drew Moor was the obvious choice for these accolades but it's still a cool honor for the central defender.
Drew was the iron man of the Rapids this season, coming to the team right before the season in a trade with FC Dallas for Ugo Ihelmu and wound up playing every single minute of every single game, regular season and playoffs, for the Colorado Rapids in their championship year. He was the cornerstone of the best defense in the history of the Rapids, a defense that gave up a franchise-best 32 goals in the season. He had an important goal on a corner kick against Columbus early in the season to give the Rapids a win as well.
His season ended with the same bang that it began, clearing a Jeff Cunningham shot off the byline in the dying seconds of the MLS Cup Final against his former team to give the Rapids their first championship. Congratulations on being Rapids Defender of the Year, Drew!
