A Rapids win will mean more playoff football in Colorado

Of course it was Chris Wondolowski who won this for the Quakes!
Of course it was Chris Wondolowski who won this for the Quakes!

And no, I don't mean in the "because we'll still be in the playoffs" sense of it. I literally mean more playoff football in Colorado!

The San Jose Earthquakes went into New York tonight and achieved what many thought was the most improbable of the possible upsets in the MLS Playoffs, beating the New York Red Bulls - at home! - to win the final aggregate of their series 3-2.

If the Colorado Rapids can follow suit and beat the other eastern high seeded Columbus Crew in their own domain - or at least draw them - Colorado's 3 seed in the East will give the Rapids home field advantage into the semi-finals, meaning that the single leg of the semis will take place at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. Needless to say, lets not get ahead of ourselves because there's still at least 90 more minutes of football for Colorado to play in order to reach that lofty goal. Either way, it's an exciting night to be a Rapids fan.
