Suddenly this day has gone from a great disappointment to one of the better offseason days for the Rapids we've ever seen. In addition to keeping Anthony Wallace around after all thanks to a trade for allocation money with the Portland Timbers, it appears that midfielder Sanna Nyassi, former Seattle Sounders player and first round draft pick of the Vancouver Whitecaps has been traded to Colorado in exchange for an international slot.

The 21 year old Nyassi scored two goals in 26 appearances for the Sounders last season, 16 of those appearances being starts. It's nice to see young guys with potential in an area of the field for the Rapids right now dominated by older guys like Pablo Mastroeni, Brian Mullan and Jamie Smith.

Colorado had gained an extra international slot after trading Frenchman Julien Baudet and Irishman Danny Earls to Seattle earlier in the week.
