As we do every year, through the month of December we'll be doing ratings and reviews of every player who played even a slightly significant amount of minutes for the Colorado Rapids in 2013. We'll start from the goalkeepers and move our way up to the forwards. Today, we'll cover Steward Ceus.
Name: Steward Ceus
Appearances: 1 (90 minutes)
Stats: 5 saves
It's odd how sometimes a career can be made or broken on only a play or two. Steward Ceus' legacy with the Rapids, unless he manages to get the trust of Oscar Pareja back and put himself back in a position to be Colorado's potential goalkeeper of the future, is likely going to be summed up by a single play in his only start of the year. You know the one.
Before that unfortunate gaffe, Ceus was still the man of the future for the Rapids. They had re-signed him to a new contract, brought in some guy we had never heard of to take the spot behind him and he was obviously trusted enough to be given the starting job against FC Dallas. At the end of 2012, he had two shutouts to finish the season, and we were tentative to hail him because those were against one of the worst offenses in MLS history (Chivas USA) and the Houston Dynamo's backups. Unfortunately, it looked like being tentative was the correct decision.
That's not even counting the awful performance he had against Orlando City in the US Open Cup. Like Matt Pickens, we may have seen the last of Steward Ceus. It's for completely different reasons, though.

He stomped on our dreams.
