Hey guys, not going to post this as an official article on the site, but I figured I would spread the word around here. You probably know by now that I've made a small name for myself in a few different circles as 'the dude who plays accordion'. I was there for our march down 16th Street the night before our Eastern Conference Final with it in 2010, I was at the CCL matches with my accordion in 2011, and I've been taking it to Rowdies games down here since I got it. I've also now been to two US Men's National Team matches with it. (My profile picture is of me at the Costa Rica Snowbowl, as you see.)
At the most recent one, the Dos A Cero-fest in Columbus, I partied and tailgated with it as I did in Denver, but the stadium security didn't let me in with it this time around. (They said it violated the 'No Vuvuzelas/Noisemakers' rule, which is fine if that's the way they're interpreting it.) I explained that I didn't have a car to put it back in, and asked if I could leave it by the stadium gate since there would be people to watch it there. They said that would work, and I went in. I came back at halftime to check on it, and I'm glad I did. Everything was gone, including the accordion, and there were several trash cans and a large dumpster there instead. So, yeah. I'm running under the assumption that they threw it away, since all of them claimed that they didn't know anything about an accordion when I asked.
Unfortunate situation. That trip left me in a chunk of debt and my job isn't exactly allowing me to print gold bars, so I can't afford to buy a new accordion on my own right now, and won't be able to for quite a while. I was given the idea to try and crowdsource funding for it. So I made a Fundly page to try and raise the money through the power of internets.
If you don't want to donate, please don't feel like you need to. I'd love if you could spread the word and help a brother out, though. Thank you kindly.
