Last night on the Rapids Thugcast, we had a lively discussion about who we would like to see starting in the front three of Oscar Pareja's 4-2-3-1 on Saturday against the Vancouver Whitecaps. Everyone is available for selection except for Tony Cascio, who will miss out on suspension after getting sent off against Chivas USA.
We had a discussion on which three players should get the start in the spine of the midfield a few days back, so it's only fair to give the forward corps their turn.
Bulldog Ben wanted to see Vicente Sanchez get the start up top after his performance in LA, with Gabriel Torres playing center forward and Deshorn Brown slotting back into the wing. Meanwhile, I was more hoping for Sanchez to stay in the super-sub role and get 30-45 minutes of solid soccer every game rather than get the start. As such, my forward line paired Torres and Brown with Jaime Castrillon, who had a solid if unspectacular performance against the Goats and was unlucky not to score after a few point-blank blocked shots.
