Jake Roth-US PRESSWIRE
The Colorado Rapids will play three friendlies in Arizona this week, with a roster of 26 players.
Starting tomorrow, the Rapids will participate in the Desert Friendlies hosted by FC Tucson in Arizona. They flew out yesterday and have brought a roster of 26 players (a list that could grow by one by the time the trip to Arizona ends) to play a few friendlies.
The Rapids will play three games over the week: (All times are MT.)
Tuesday, Jan. 29th vs. Portland Timbers, 11 a.m.
Thursday, Jan. 31st vs. Houston Dynamo, 6 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 2nd vs. San Jose Earthquakes, 11 a.m.
And shamelessly copy/pasted from the Rapids official site, here's the roster of players that are on the trip right now:
Goalkeepers: Matt Pickens, Stew Ceus, *Jimmy Maurer, *Clint Irwin
Defenders: Drew Moor, Diego Calderon, Chris Klute, Anthony Wallace, Marvell Wynne, *Kory Kindle,
Midfielders: Pablo Mastroeni, Hendry Thomas, Nick LaBrocca, Tony Cascio, Brian Mullan, Shane O'Neill, Martin Rivero, Dillon Serna, Nathan Sturgis, Dillon Powers, *Jamie Smith,
Forwards: Andre Akpan, Deshorn Brown, Kamani Hill, Atiba Harris, *Cesar Romero
* Not under contract
Also of note, Kory Kindle has not yet been signed to a contract, which isn't unusual for a second round pick. Two of Colorado's four Supplemental Draft picks are on the roster in Arizona according to this (Brenton Griffiths and Marcello Castro) and the other two will probably have to earn a spot on the roster in regular training camps going into February.
