The Colorado Rapids selected DeShorn Brown with the sixth overall pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft.
After some interesting picks above them, the board was still absolutely loaded with top talent when the Rapids came up. Guys like Eriq Zavaleta, Walker Zimmerman and Jason Johnson were all available, three guys that I personally was hyping up before the draft began. They decided to go for one of those big talents, the speedy forward out of the University of Central Florida.
I think we all know that Brown was probably the sixth name on my draft board, below a couple of guys who were still on the board, but he is still a guy that has big potential for the future. He'll add to the already impressive depth at the outside striker position, which also got Kevin Harbottle added into the mix earlier today.
The Rapids might get another shot at some of those guys I detailed earlier with the No. 11 pick, the way that this draft is going.
