Officially Silly Season: Nick LaBrocca Back In Rapids Burgundy?

Victor Decolongon

Silly Season is open: Nick LaBrocca is coming back to the Rapids.

Silly season is officially upon us, but this one apparently has legs, Rapids fans: Nick LaBrocca could be back in the Burgundy for the 2013 season, at least as a backup. If you'll recall, the last time we say Nick in Rapids colors was just before the 2010 season when we traded him to (who else?) Toronto FC for Marvell Wynne.

Chivas USA in the meantime, will get the rights to negotiate with Eric Avila.

Nick LaBrocca has been billed as many things in the league, with the Rapids under Fernando Clavijo, he was billed as an up and coming attacking midfielder. After Kyle Beckerman was traded and Gary Smith took over the team, he was slotted in next to Pablo Mastroeni as another defensive midfield destroyer. Then he went to Chivas where he was regarded once again as a kind of midfield playmaker.

So what do we know? Well, he's a midfielder, and he's played here before.

Avila for LaBrocca seems like an even trade though, but what do you think?

Are you dusting off those LaBrocca shirts?
