It looks like the speculation and the original reports out of Honduras were indeed correct, as the Denver Post reported about an hour ago that former Wigan midfielder Hendry Thomas has indeed inked an undisclosed contract with the Colorado Rapids.
The Colorado Rapids moved to replace long-suffering captain Pablo Mastroeni by taking a risk on former English Premier League midfielder Hendry Thomas.
The club on Monday was waiting to finalize paperwork with Major League Soccer before announcing the signing of Thomas. Terms and dollar amounts of the deal were not available.
No word is out on when he'll see the pitch for the first time, though I know we're all secretly hoping he'll get in there against the San Jose Earthquakes on the weekend and break Chris Wondolowski in half. If they were going to go out and find a replacement for Pablo Mastroeni, there weren't many better options than Thomas that I could think of.
