A done deal finally? It looks like after several days of rumors swirling around regarding Honduran midfielder Hendry Thomas, reports out of Honduras seem to indicate that the captain has indeed inked a contract with the Colorado Rapids.
Formerly of Wigan Athletic in the Premier League, Thomas is the highest profile defensive signing all season long for the team.
This is no doubt the biggest signing for the Rapids all season long, even more so than the original talisman midfield signing of Martin Rivero at the start of the year. He'll shore up a Rapids defense that has given up a frightening number of leads this season and has allowed Matt Pickens to get peppered with far too many shots, the main reason that despite the number of losses the Rapids have sustained, he holds the league lead in saves for any Keeper.
Thomas will most certainly do a better job than the last defensive midfielder the squad picked up, Harrison Henao -- Henao was released from the squad several weeks ago after sparse play with the first team.
