A very bad injury situation a few weeks ago has been slowly but surely coming to a close; we've already heard that Omar Cummings and Marvell Wynne might both be on the squad for today's game against the San Jose Earthquakes, but now it looks like Conor Casey might be starting.

Chris Bianchi let loose an early morning tweet that mentions Casey's starting abilities in passing:

This is huge news for the Rapids, who have mostly seen Casey so far this season in relief appearances, which has limited his effectiveness. Even if by starting, they mean he'll be playing only 60 minutes, that is still a lot better than the 20 minute cameos that the big guy has been forced into taking all season long as he recovered from that Achilles tear and various other knocks.

Either way, having him, Omar Cummings, Brian Mullan and Marvell Wynne all in the starting 18 on Wednesday would be a huge step forward in the injury situation.
