The Colorado Rapids are currently saturated with International talent, which has led to a problem with Harrison Henao and Edu, the latest signings by the team which officially overload the number of international spots the team has by two. Right now it's not as much of a problem with Edu not yet officially on the squad and with newly officially signed Henao taking up the international slot of the currently injured Jamie Smith.
Henao will be able to hold on to that spot until Jamie Smith is cleared to play, at which point either Smith or another international player will need to be removed from the team if they want to keep Henao in that spot.
Jamie Smith is getting closer to being able to play, but is definitely a 'Gary Smith' guy and has proven to be streaky at times during his tenure with the Rapids. He and Joseph Nane or Kohei Yamada would seem to be the most likely two candidates to get jettisoned for Edu and Henao, sad as it would be to see Smith leave after such a promising 2011 season for the Scotsman.
We still have a bit of time to wait for that decision to need to be made though, since Smith's recovery isn't quite finished yet.
