COMMERCE CITY, CO - AUGUST 20: Jeff Larentowicz #4 of the Colorado Rapids celebrates after scoring a goal against Chivas USA during their game at Dick's Sporting Goods Park August 20, 2011 in Commerce City, Colorado. The game ended in a 2-2 draw. (Photo by Marc Piscotty/Getty Images)
So that was an amazing third goal that the Colorado Rapids scored against the Montreal Impact last night. Martin Rivero plus various heads plus some quirky wind patterns were a winning combination indeed. As midfielder Jeff Larentowicz is quoted as saying, "Sometimes it takes a little witchcraft."
Larentowicz's insight on witchcraft got me thinking that maybe he is a little less of a muggle than all of us have been led to believe. Which, of course, led down the very natural path of wondering - if Larentowicz was placed into one of the four Hogwarts houses (from the Harry Potter series, which most of you are likely familiar with), which house would he be placed in?
As a hard nosed midfielder who's well known for his ability to pile up yellow cards, Slytherin might be a natural placement for Larentowicz. However, we Rapids fans all know he plays for the good of his team, so by positioning his aggressiveness as bravery and daringness in the name of the Rapids, he could just as easily be a Gryffindor.
Larentowicz also has strong potential for Hufflepuff. You don't get to be a starting player for an MLS team without a bunch of hard work, after all. Ravenclaw might also have some potential here - Larentowicz's excellent distribution skills indeed show his intelligence.
If Larentowicz were sorted into one of the four houses of Hogwarts, which house do you think he would be sorted into?
(I apologize profusely for this one - ed)
