On Saturday, April 21st, the Colorado Rapids will take on the defending MLS Cup champions, Los Angeles Galaxy. The match will be played at Dick's Sporting Goods Park and will be broadcast on Altitude at 7:00 MT. The Rapids will face a star-studded lineup that includes David Beckham, Landon Donovan, and Robbie Keane.
Colorado are coming off a 1-0 loss to the Seattle Sounders on the weekend. Colorado won the possession battle, but lost to a second half Zach Scott goal. Seattle goalkeeper Michael Gspurning only had to make one save as Colorado were continually frustrated in the attacking third throughout the game. Los Angeles ended their two-game losing streak as they came from behind to defeat the Portland Timbers at home 3-1 on the weekend.
The Rapids were hoping to have Conor Casey on the bench tomorrow but the forward's return from injury is expected to be delayed a week. Colorado's defense will be busy containing some of the league's biggest names as Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane have been a dangerous combination since the Irish striker signed with the Galaxy during the summer transfer window. David Beckham also scored against Portland and Juninho is slowly getting back to form.
David Beckham is expected to play in the Mile High City for the first time since 2008. The midfielder has missed recent trips to Denver due to a loan spell with AC Milan, and achilles injury, and back spasms. Beckham's only appearance was in 2008 during the Rapids home opener as the Rocky Mountain club won 4-0 and ruined then Galaxy head coach Ruud Gullit's debut.
