Conor Casey's rehab after tearing his Achilles tendon last year against the Seattle Sounders appears to be close to finishing, with the rumors being that his return could come as soon against the Los Angeles Galaxy this Saturday. It would be good to have him back, since the offense has looked a bit anemic in recent weeks after two straight no-goal performances.
Sadly, it looks like a different affliction might be his undoing before the Galaxy game.
Chris Bianchi tweeted earlier today that Casey has missed practice with Strep Throat, which could take him out for the game on Saturday.
That's no good for the Rapids, who had to be looking forward to having options other than Omar Cummings up top at target forward with the ineffectiveness of everyone offensively during the road trip. Fortunately, they'll still be at home where they've been doing much better.
