For the first time in a long time, the Colorado Rapids are actually getting a bit of a substantial break between games. A 13 day gap between their match against the Chicago Fire and their next league match in LA against the Los Angeles Galaxy means that the team will most certainly have the first choices available and rested.
This provides an interesting question as that starts another set of two games in four days, with the clash against Santos Laguna at Dick's Sporting Goods Park for CONCACAF Champions League on the 13th. While the Los Angeles game will certainly be important for getting some inter-Western Conference points as playoff seeding starts to get settled into place, the Santos Laguna match could very well be the deciding factor on who wins group B in CCL.
That leads to the question - which game should Gary Smith send out more of his top tier players for? The obvious answer in Smith's mind would probably seem to be the Galaxy game since he's kind of underwhelmed us in CCL so far, but remember, we're sure to be missing Drew Moor against the Galaxy anyway. That might be a small tipping point, it might not.
